As so many people are staying at home, it can be a very challenging experience to deal with, especially for those who are so used to be highly active outside of their homes due to their work, school or traveling. But, there are still many ways how you can spend quality time while staying at home, and express yourself creatively. If you are unemployed because of the crisis, you can brainstorm some ideas and start to work on any of them and possibly make money out of it. There are different possibilities out there. At the end of the day, it depends on your perspective. Either you look at self-quarantining as something that will possibly make you go crazy or unable to do fun stuff OR you look at it as an opportunity to express yourself differently and start to create some new ideas, prioritize self-care, improve your health or learn something new.
1. Do an indoor photo shoot.
There are so many creative and easy ways how you can make a cool and fun photoshoot in your home with tools that you already have. The number one source of inspiration for that is definitely Pinterest.
Here is one of the ideas I came up with using a fake plant decor I found at my home:
For some vintage type of look, I used different colored glasses and took photos in a dark room using the flashlight. You can definitely get an interesting result by trying it out with your mobile phone too.
You can take photos of your plants, notebooks, yourself or even of your dishes, upload it on Shutterstock and possibly make money out of it. There will be always someone who is looking for that kind of photo, especially bloggers. So if that is something you would like to try, why not?
2. Learn digital drawing.
By learning how to do graphic design or illustrate, you can make art and sell it as a printable on Etsy for example. If you are interested in learning something new and creative I suggest you use Youtube or Skillshare. Both platforms are great, you can learn so many different and helpful things in both of them, or even make lessons yourself.
If you haven't yet heard about Skillshare, here is more information about the platform.
3. Challenge yourself.
There are so many positive challenges right now that could make your daily life more entertaining and improve yourself in different ways. I have made two challenges, one is a positivity challenge and another one is a positive body image challenge if that is something you are interested in, click on any of them for more information. But, if not, there are still many other great challenges on the internet that you can easily look up to.
4. Listen to inspirational and motivational audibles.
This is a great way how to get that motivation boost whenever you feel unmotivated to do something creative or just something you have had on your mind for some time.
Here are some great options you can listen to for free if you have signed up for Audible free trial:
5. Join Tik Tok.
It can be very fun and entertaining to make Tik Tok videos with your family or just by yourself. When I first joined the platform I was a bit more on the skeptical side, but now I'm kind of addicted to it and I am making a few videos on it myself. You can find any type of content there - funny, education, inspiring, so there are many creative ways how you can use it while at the same time being entertained and inspired by others.
6. Try creative face paint or makeup look.
Here are some ideas on how you and your family can express yourselves creatively by using face paint and at the same time to have some fun and quality time together:
Create some fun party, where all the family members have to do fun face painting, this could be a funny activity for kids and definitely something they will remember for a long time.
Create some funny face paint and surprise your best friend via video call.
Follow any art tutorial and try to draw something with face paint.
7. Start a blog.
Blogging is one of the coolest ways how to express yourself because you can be creative with it in unlimited ways. You can write about literally anything. There are so many informative articles on how to start your blog and how to monetize it, so you can get all the information you need. Write about what you are passionate about and have fun with it.
8. Create your own board game that you can play with your family or with your friends virtually.
There are way too many ways how to make your own board game, for example like this one.

9. Collaborate with other creative people on social media.
If you are enthusiastic about social media and you have always wanted to expand your ideas, collaboration with other creative people could be a great way how to do it. People love to work on something creative that can potentially make a positive impact. Don't be afraid to pitch your ideas to someone you don't know. Especially in a time like this, virtually coming together and working on creative things is something very positive and uplifting.
P.S. I am always open to collaborating with new people. So, if you have an idea or something positive you would like to share with others, feel free to send me a message to firstname.lastname@example.org and let's create something positive together.💛
